Usability is the quality of a system that makes it easy to learn, easy to use, easy to remember, error tolerant, and subjectively pleasing.

Why is Usability Important?

From the user's perspective usability is important because it can:

(a) make the difference between performing a task accurately or not, and
(b) make the process enjoyable, or frustrating.

Users should be considered throughout the website design process. Usability should not be an afterthought. Testing and fixing a website after it has been built is inefficient and unlikely to produce good results.

The preferred method for ensuring usability is to test actual users on a working system, and at Jubilee Computing we test the design at all stages to ensure maximum usability is maintained.
